Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of the two most important cannabinoid components of the Cannabis plant, found in variable proportions depending on the strain. While in some it is minimal, in others it can be the most abundant, or it can be found in more or less equal proportions than THC.
The plant has some compounds that have a psychoactive effect (perception alteration and mood modification) and others that do not. Among the former are delta-9-THC, CBN (cannabinol) and delta-8-THC, with different potencies and concentrations in the plant, the most powerful and abundant being delta-9-THC.
